Birdie (FKA Your)'s Story

Hi, I’m Birdie. I’m about 3 yrs old and I just moved to Santa Fe, NM. I was staying with my foster dad, Kevin, and his 3 Vizsla girls down the way in Albuquerque and they were awesome! He would take me on the most epic hikes throughout big, beautiful New Mexico! I met my new parents, Pat and Leonora, on a hike with my Vizsla sisters, in Santa Fe. We all had a blast and I showed them what an incredible runner I am and how much love I had to give.

My new parents picked me up in Albuquerque a little over a month ago and we’ve been having the best time together! I’ve been able to check out all the fun trails in Santa Fe and love running tons of miles with Pat and biking with him and Leonora! They are the perfect family for a thoroughbred athlete like me.

My name was Yure when my parents adopted me, but after being together for a while they decided I was more of a Birdie because I love to flush birds and rabbits! I’ve taken to my new name pretty easily because I’m smart and learn things really quickly.

I am so thankful to be with my new family. We have already shared so many adventures together including a big trip to Salt Lake City where I was a perfect angel in the car and while camping in Moab! I can’t wait to have more good times with my new family and feel so lucky to still have Kevin and my Vizsla sisterhood so close by so that we can all hang out!
